Congratulations Rachel!

AHS Girls XC Assistant Coach Rachel Rose Ward added to her impressive running resume with an dominating first place finish in the Charlottesville Women's Four Miler yesterday. Her second Four Miler victory in the last three years is a testament to her ability and drive to excel. She exemplifies "The Commitment To Excellence" motto of the AHS cross country teams. From the Daily Progress article:
"I stayed consistent over the first section of the course and was content to be running behind them but when I ran by all of those Albemarle kids lining the course all I could think was what I’m always telling them and that’s to ‘find another gear.’ That really helped to get me going and before I knew it I was out ahead!” exclaimed the Patriots’ assistant coach.

Congrats also to all of the women who ran and raised money for Breast Cancer research, particularly those from the AHS family.
AND, thanks to all the team members, boys and girls, who volunteered to make the event a success.
