Mark Lorenzoni's "Daily Run" Blog

Mark Lorenzoni writes a blog for the Daily Progress called "Daily Run". That, coupled with his podcast - "Runcast", he provides publicity, results, advice, and "shout outs" for the area running community. The links to both are provided in the sidebar. The first four minutes of the 9/8 Runcast are devoted to the Ragged Mountain Cup.
From The Daily Run:
"Albemarle High pulled off a rare “double” at last week’s 24th Annual Ragged Mountain Cup, when both the boys and girls teams took home top honors. This was the first time both Patriot squads accomplished this on the same day in the race’s illustrious history!
A record 62 teams competed in the varsity relay and a record number of athletes (252) competed in the open (junior varsity) race.
The Sports section of this Thursday’s edition of The Daily Progress featured the first Central Virginia Cross Country Poll of the season, which is based on the votes of area coaches and compiled each week by my son Alec. We’re most grateful to The Progress for providing this wonderful community service. I hope our area athlete’s appreciate seeing their photo, name and personal accomplishments in the paper on a weekly basis. I can still remember what a thrill it was to, on the rare occasion the paper actually covered one of our races, simply seeing my name, typed in a font size so small you practically needed a magnifying glass, in the box score/results section of the sports page of our local paper. So, a mug shot and a personal call out in the paper each week seems like pretty cool stuff to me!"
